Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies dropped on Thursday alongside the broader market, giving back much of Wednesday’s historic gains, according to CNBC. Bitcoin fell over 3% to nearly $79,000, while Ether and Solana declined. The S&P 500 also fell more than 3%, with Coinbase sliding 4% and bitcoin proxy Strategy down 8%. Investors are increasingly concerned that President Donald Trump’s paused tariffs may not prevent broader economic fallout, especially as higher rates remain in place for China.
